“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;”
Acts 26:16
Our God is a God of purpose! Divine appearance or revelation is designed for a purpose. In the passage under review, we see Paul telling us the purpose or reason why our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to him. The purpose was to transform or change him from a persecutor to a minister of the gospel of Jesus. Every divine revelation or appearance opens the door of assignment. Don’t forget God appeared to Moses and mandated him to deliver His people from Egypt.
In Hebrew 9:26, we also see Jesus appearing on the scene to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Don’t pray for divine appearance or revelation, until you are prepared and ready for divine commissioning.
Let’s consider 3 other reasons for divine appearance:

  1. To bless
“And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram and blessed him.”
    Genesis 35:9
  2. To reveal Himself or His name
“And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name, JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”
    Exodus 6:3
  3. To strengthen
“And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.”
    Luke 22:43
I decree and declare that divine purpose may be established in your life in Jesus’ mighty name.
