Lessons from my QuietTime:
3 Qualities of a Chris
“Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God; And whatsoever ye do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
Colossians 3:22-23
As Christian workers, our attitude or disposition to work or boss is of paramount importance to God. Hence, we must seek to render quality service. Whatever we do in our work and how we do it is recorded in heaven. And God, our Ultimate Rewarder, will reward us accordingly!
Let’s consider 3 Qualities of a Christian worker:

  1. Kindness
“Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”
    Colossians 3:12
Without kindness, we cannot please or glorify God in our workplace. We are to be kind to those we work with. When we are asked to do something, we must do it cheerfully without grumbling or murmuring. Have you offered help to a colleague who requires assistance? That’s kindness! It takes kindness to be good to people in your world.
  2. Faithfulness
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
    1 Corinthians 4:2
Being faithful is about being loyal, dedicated and committed to the vision and mission of your firm. A faithful person will do their job without supervision. Don’t engage in eye service rather be top-notch in faithfulness. Do you want a promotion? Then give your best service faithfully.
  3. Self-control
“He that hath no rule over his spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”
    Proverbs 25:28
Self-control is about you gaining control over your spirit or emotion. It is about bringing your fleshly desires under control. Being self-controlled is the very foundation for living a life of influence or impact in the office. If you are wired with self-control with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will not defraud or steal from your organisation. The quality of self-control will not allow you to burn with lust for a colleague! Don’t forget, it was the quality of self-control that made Joseph run away from a seductive woman, Potiphar’s wife! Joseph pleased and glorified God via the quality of self-control, you too can glorify God by self-control.
I decree and declare that you will be empowered to render quality service always in Jesus’ mighty name.
    Yours sincerely,
    Joe Jesimiel Ogbe
