“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10
How many of us are well knowledgeable about our creation in Christ Jesus? Very few, I presume. As Christians, the essence of our creation and existence on earth is to engage in good works, not bad works. We are the light and salt of the earth, hence we must showcase good works in the order of Christ Jesus. The Bible says, “Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?”
John 10:32
Why do we need to engage in good works? Because good works bring glory to God. Also, good works point to our relevance on earth. Every servant of God is furnished unto good works. “That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
2 Timothy 3:17
Please note that we are called to:
1. Maintain good Works
“This is a faithful saying and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
Titus 3:8
2. Pattern Good Works
‘In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,”
Titus 2:7
3. Be Zealous of Good Works
“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Titus 2:14
4. Be Rich in Good Works
“That they do good, that they are rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;”
1 Timothy 6:18
5. Be full of good works
“Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.”
Acts 9:36
I decree and declare that you shall be an epitome of good works in Jesus’ mighty name!
