“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.”
1 Peter 5:10
When it is your season to be settled, no devil or man can stop it. When God says “Yes” to your settlement, no man can say “No” to it. What does settlement connote in our context? Settlement connotes that an end has come to your suffering, hardship or delay. The truth is that your suffering will never last forever! Settlement connotes that the expiry date of your suffering has finally come. When God steps in, your case shall be decided in your favour! People who owed you for months or years would be compelled to pay or settle you in a hurry. Remember that the children of Israel served and worked assiduously in the land of Egypt for over 400 years without the benefit of reward or settlement, but when God stepped in, Egyptians were in a hurry to settle them. When God stepped in, within one day children of Israel were settled beyond what they were owed. Are you being owed by any man or organisation? I want to assure you that you have come to your season of settlement. God who ensured that the children of Israel were settled, will prevail on your debtors to settle you. Do you know that when it’s your season of settlement all your rights and privileges that were denied you or taken away from you will be returned and restored? It does not take God months, or years to settle you. Just a day is enough! I want you to repose confidence in the ability and promise of God to settle you after your old estates! He will do you better than your beginnings. The Bible says, “And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”
Ezekiel 36:11
Let’s consider 3 examples of people who enjoyed settlement in the Bible:
- Mephibosheth
“Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.”
2 Samuel 9:11
Mephibosheth was lame, but he was settled to the point of eating at king David’s table, just like one of David’s sons. - Shunammite woman
“And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.” 2 Kings 8:6
The Shunammite woman had her properties taken away but was divinely restored even with help from an unexpected quarter, Gehazi.
Divine settlement is about God remembering you with outstanding restoration. - Mordecai
“Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken. Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.”
Esther 6:10-11
The story of Mordecai is a remarkable story of an individual who entered into his season of settlement when it was aptly auspicious. He did good by saving the life of the King but he was not rewarded or settled. But when his season came the King could not sleep, and he was gloriously settled via Divine orchestration.
I decree and declare that you shall enter into your season of settlement forthwith in Jesus’ mighty name.
Yours sincerely,
Joe Jesimiel Ogbe
