“The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto…”
Deuteronomy 1:6-7
In this passage under review, we see God urging the children of Israel to go the next mountain. As He was not comfortable with their resolve to settle down, as if they had reached their final destination. God is also not comfortable with us if we dwell much longer at a particular stage of life. He wants us to move to the next level or phase. In life we are meant to keep moving from one level or stage to another! We are not meant to take a long rest at any stage of our journeys. We are not meant to be like the children of Israel who got so relaxed at a particular mountain.
This year, God is urging you to move forward to the next level. You cannot afford to take a long rest at your current stage. No! There is a next level of results or success to attain.
3 forces that provoke next level:
- The Force of imagination!
“… and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.”
Genesis 11:6
To move to the next level of results you must engage the force of imagination. It is possible that the children of Israel were not motivated to move to the next mountain because they never imagined or envisioned a better future at the next mountain. You must envision the next stage or level to be better than your current level. You must never have a view or mindset that your current mountain is better than the next. For instance, if a bachelor or spinster feels satisfied with their current stage of singlehood, they will never desire marriage. They will give valid reasons why marriage is not an option. - The Force of Desire!
“Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
Psalm 37:4
It’s not enough to envision the next mountain! You must desire it!
Look within you, do you really want to make progress in life? If yes, then there is a next level in your progressive journeys. But is this desire or thought of progress reverberating in your subconscious mind? How strong do you feel about moving to the next level? If your desire is strong enough, you will be motivated to move forward. Develop a very strong desire for the next phase of your life! - The Force of Contention!
“Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.” Deuteronomy 2:24
Your next mountain or level is not a gift! It is hard work! It takes real contention to move to the next level. Are you willing and prepared to confront and contend with your own “king of Heshbon”. Truly, the land is potentially yours but you need to contend for it. Are you ready?
I decree and declare that you will be empowered by God to move to the next level of your life in Jesus mighty name!
Yours sincerely,
Joe Jesimiel Ogbe
